Dealing With Setbacks

adversity_rhospiritualguideLast month my family and I travelled through parts of the United States.

It was a road trip and we did a few historical tours.

Once I came back, I kept thinking about the tours. In each of the tours there were good stories of the people and places and also, of course, negative or troubling stories.

These stories of positive and negative came through in each tour. In not one of the tours did we ever see just good or just bad, there was the balance of both.

It is human nature that all of us wish only for good things. No one on this earth wishes for darkness or negativity to fall specifically on themselves yet we have all experienced some negative or bumpy situations in life.

The important thing to recognize is the way the “bumpy” was surmounted. Realize that it was in fact surmounted and try to recognize what was learned.

Was there a lessoned that needed to be learned? Did you feel you learned it? Were you pushed to do something you did not feel comfortable doing because in other situations you were afraid, but this time you had no choice? Did it feel like something was repeating? Has something powerful changed, in you, physically around you or did it just feel that way?

Think back to historical events and historical people of your liking. Were they at some point of their life met with defeat? How did they surmount it? These historical recordings help us to understand the circle of life. We are born to live and we live life and life is to be lived. We are not meant to coast through life.

Meet trials with strength, help from Spirit and understanding. Don’t be down trodden. There are always options, all of us have great abilities that need to used and expressed. Remember that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

In peace, my friends
