Rune Reading for April

Greetings, 

April has sprung upon us!

In pulling Runes for this month, being April, what has come forward is as follows: First the Rune of Protection (Algiz), Second Rune of Separation (Othila - reversed), Third the Rune of Partnership (Gebo) and Fourth the Rune of Disruption (Hagalaz).

April is a month that centers around renewal, rebirth and new opportunities. It invites us to changes that can arrive as the season of Spring unfolds. 

Renewal, rebirth and new opportunities can bring with them major changes like disruptions and separations. Ask yourself such questions as, what do I need to let go of that no longer serves? Where am I leaving gaps? Am I spending enough time with myself to be aware of what needs to be shifted or changed in my life or within?

The first Rune is about Protection. This Rune relates to Algiz. Algiz is a symbol of the elk’s antlers. It is a symbol of protection and it is also about spiritual connection. The bridge between Creator and the inner self is part of the symbol of Algiz. Are we trying to bridge the gap between inner self and Source? Would meditation, prayer or breath work connecting us with the Creator? What other modalities could you use to bridge the gap?

The second Rune is Separation. This Rune relates to Othila. However, this Rune is reversed. This means it is time to let go of what no longer serves. Review your relationships and ask if they stagnate? Is it time to approach in a way that is fresher and not stagnate because we have only been using the same approach due to comfort or habit. Perhaps a change of approach may be beneficial. Subtle changes occur in our lives daily that we do not think of that are impactful however those subtle changes are making us aware that change is constant.

The third Rune is about Partnership or Gebo. Note that Partnership is not always about partnership with others. This is partnership with the self or Higher Self. The flow of the Runes makes sense that Partnership to the self is at hand. During a major change it is important to go within, be gentle with the Self and be open to be flexible or accept the end of old ways and accept newness in our lives. Ask yourself, are you being kind to yourself or are you being harsh? How can you prepare for this transformation that is about to unfold?

The final Rune is about Disruption or Hagalaz. This brings awareness - it is coming out of a deep sleep. What do we hold onto from our past that we cannot let go of? Some things could be arising from childhood and we have yet to let go of it or approach it. In order to let new opportunities in we need to create space for opportunities. What are we holding onto that is clogging up possible opportunities?

The Runes message for April is about being open to renewal, rebirthing and opportunities. Are we willing or prepared to embrace either renewal, rebirthing or opportunities? March was about breakthrough and transformation. This theme seems to be spilling into April. Know that you are not alone. We are protected and have protection around us. Call in your deceased relatives, spiritual guides or angels as they are always willing to protect and guide. Be ready to experience renewal, rebirth and new opportunities.
